Today we did our actual mock interviews for the job roles we had been practising for the previous week. We had 3 people on the panel and 1 person being interviewed. Overall they all went well and it panned out quite smoothly. The final feedback was good and we will definitely benefit all of us in future interviews.
In the evening we returned to Galway Escape rooms and gave it another go. This was another great team bonding activity and was great fun. -Tyler

On Saturday we woke up early in anticipation of the day ahead, we only knew that we were going to visit Connemara, we had no knowledge of where this was or what is was going to be like.
Saturday morning we all met outside of our accommodation, planning on catching the bus to Eyre Square (which is in the centre of Galway). However, due to a few members of the group being late, we missed the first bus and had to wait another 10 minutes for the other one. Once we arrived in Eyre Square, we had 20 minutes to quickly grab some breakfast before getting on the coach. We ended up going to SuperMac's (for English students, this was our first ever encounter with the fast food chain). I devoured a breakfast muffin filled with egg, cheese, sausage and bacon. I really enjoyed the food however as a long-term McDonalds fan I would say it was better than my hometown favourite. After eating breakfast in a slight rush we had to speedily make our way to the coach station, however what we assumed to be the coach station was only a bus stop. We almost got on to the wrong bus, we genuinely had no idea where we were going. Thankfully one of the other students on our trip had the innovative to use google maps to find where the coach station was. Once on the coach we listened to traditional Irish music whilst receiving a periodic commentary of the surroundings. We stopped a few times on the way to visit an abbey. We stopped in a small hamlet where the 'garage' consisted of a fuel pump outside of a pub. We went into a traditional pub where we were able to stretch our legs after spending a couple of hours on a coach. It was here that I was able to experience my first Irish Coffee, I have to say it was delicious (it has overtaken my favourite coffee of a Flat White). After stopping at the traditional Irish Pub we boarded the coach for another couple of hours of traveling, the longer we spent on the coach the more monotonous the journey was feeling. Eventually we came to the an Abbey which was situated in acres of woodland, surrounded by a lake. The Gothic style church which accompanied the Abbey was located one miles up the road. We got off of the bus and had some lunch which was well deserved after traveling for hours on the coach. Unfortunately the Abbey was shut so we were only able to look at the grounds surrounding the magnificent structure. After a few hours of exploring we were able to get back on the coach ready for the couple of hour journey back to Salthill, Galway. Over these next few hours I was in and out of sleep, I was extremely tired, as was everyone else on the trip that day. -Sadie In order to gain a feel for the outer city life within Galway, our group was given the opportunity to have an hour ride around the landscapes with Feeney's Riding Stables. To begin with some of us were extremely nervous as we had either never ridden a horse before or just didn't have confidence around them. We all learned the correct ways too greet, control, mount and dismount the beautiful horses which was very fun. Horse riding was enabling us to witness outer city Irish culture alongside being privileged to ride horses in the sunshine.
In the evening we took part in a escape room we took part in the Quarantine Room and this left us within a room with a deadly virus that would kill us within an hour if we didn’t leave the room; working as team we had to find the clues to find the code for the door. We managed to escape with 6 mins to spare. We were proud because the escape room had only a 5-10% success rate. -Bethany On Wednesday, we attended a Payroll lesson within the college, which introduced us to the use of Sage Payroll 2018. We set up our own finances and filled in details of employees. Afterwards, we went for lunch in town to experience more of the culture and we decided to walk round the city to explore further. In the evening, we wanted to experience the nightlife and the culture of the city and how the experience differs back to home. We found that things to be more expensive in Ireland.
-Ethan Chalk Today was our second day of college at GTI. We arrived early and each had a hot beverage to kick start our day. The morning started with a meeting regarding roles and tasks for the day ahead of us. Once the meeting was over, and our roles assigned, we all cracked on with researching job descriptions for our dream jobs. This varied from a trainee accountant and marketeer to a job in the navy front-line. With a job description in hand, we prepared for the questions we would be interviewed on next week. Following a busy morning we headed out for a well deserved lunch in the beautiful city centre of Galway. Sun shinning, we enjoyed a delicious ice cream on our walk back to GTI. The afternoon consisted of adding to our interview questions and assigning each student a project to work on throughout our time here.
-Tyler In the morning we arrived at Galway Technical Institute. We took part in a class with special needs students and we played games. We then met with another Erasmus + Student who was from Italy. He had been in Galway for 2 weeks and we went on 'treasure hunt' with him to find local attractions such as the museum, churches, theatre and bridges. We took pictures all together once we had found the locations. This went well and we enjoyed talking to another Erasmus + student. We found it challenging at the beginning being in another country, as we didn't know the area, but this made us feel more relaxed.
